XRP is trading near $1.00, with institutional inflows providing some support, but a persistent decline in retail participation is keeping the token under pressure. The broader crypto market remains cautious, as the Crypto Fear & Greed Index sits at 36, indicating "Fear" among investors.

ETF inflows continue, but retail interest wanes

US spot XRP ETFs attracted $14.9 million in net inflows last week, up from $8.2 million the prior week. The streak extended into Monday with an additional $1.15 million, bringing cumulative inflows to $1.5 billion. Total net assets dipped slightly to $989 million from $997 million.

Ethereum Eyes $2K as BitMine Boosts ETH Stash to 4.8% of Supply
Ethereum hovers near $1,850 as BitMine expands its ETH holdings to 4.8% of circulating supply. Key resistance levels at $1,929 and $1,961 could determine next move.

While institutional interest remains steady, retail demand is weakening. Perpetual futures open interest for XRP has fallen 4.6% in the last 24 hours to $2.3 billion, down from $2.8 billion in late July. This decline signals reduced speculative activity and a cautious stance among traders.

Technical picture: bearish structure persists

On the 4-hour chart, XRP remains below the 50, 100, and 200-period exponential moving averages, which are clustered between $1.08 and $1.10. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence histogram is marginally positive, and the Relative Strength Index hovers near 51, suggesting slightly improving momentum but not enough to break resistance.

Immediate resistance lies at the 50-period EMA near $1.08, followed by the 100-period EMA at $1.09. The 200-period EMA at $1.10 is a more significant barrier. A sustained break above this cluster would improve the near-term outlook.

On the downside, support sits around $1.06, where XRP recently reclaimed a rising trendline. A decisive break below the $1.05–$1.06 zone could intensify selling pressure and bring the psychologically important $1.00 level into focus.

Broader market sentiment

Risk appetite remains subdued across cryptocurrencies. Reports of a Coldcard hardware wallet vulnerability, allegedly dormant since 2021, have added to caution. Attackers reportedly stole approximately 1,367 BTC, worth about $89 million, from holders.

Despite these headwinds, some analysts note that continued ETF inflows could help XRP regain momentum. However, the lack of retail participation may limit upside potential in the short term.

For context, XRP's recent rally toward $1.10 was fueled by ETF inflows and a tokenized fund launch, but that momentum has since faded. Meanwhile, gold's resilience above $4,000 suggests investors are rotating into safe havens, a trend that could further pressure risk assets like XRP.

As the market awaits a clear catalyst, traders are likely to remain on the sidelines. The price action is choppy, with no definitive bullish or bearish bias.
