Uniswap's native token, UNI, briefly surged past the $4 mark on Tuesday, driven by project-specific updates that reignited buying interest. The token climbed to an intraday high of $4.06 before settling around $3.97, marking a 3.7% gain from its daily open and an 8.5% recovery from its July 29 low of $3.74. This move extends UNI's rebound from its June low near $2.35 by over 70%, bringing it back into price territory last seen in May.

The catalyst for the jump was a clarification from Uniswap founder Hayden Adams regarding the fee structure for the upcoming v4 protocol. Adams explained that protocol fees would be added on top of liquidity provider fees, not deducted from them. For example, a pool with a 30-basis-point liquidity provider fee would see traders pay a total of 35 basis points, with liquidity providers still receiving the full 30 basis points and the protocol taking the remaining five. This eased concerns that enabling protocol fees would reduce liquidity provider earnings and drive liquidity to competing decentralized exchanges.

Pi Network Rises 10%: ISO Registration and Protocol Upgrade Fuel Breakout Hopes
Pi Network has rebounded 10% from its July 28 low, driven by an ISO registration and upcoming Protocol 26 upgrade. Technicals show improving momentum, but the primary trend remains bearish.

Governance activity has added further momentum. Uniswap has submitted proposals to route protocol fees from v4 pools and deployments on Robinhood Chain into the existing UNI burn mechanism. If approved, this would create a direct link between trading activity and token supply reduction. The proposal builds on strong early adoption: Uniswap generated approximately $5.2 million in fees in a 24-hour period earlier this month, with Robinhood Chain contributing $4.4 million. The platform also surpassed $1 billion in trading volume on Robinhood Chain within nine days of launch.

However, future UNI buybacks and burns remain contingent on governance approval, successful fee collection, and sustained trading volume across supported networks. The recent TokenJar transaction, worth about $2.2 million, was described by analysts as the largest UNI buyback-and-burn event since late 2025, renewing interest in the token's supply dynamics.

Beyond governance, Uniswap Labs has expanded its institutional offerings. The introduction of Permissioned Pools on v4 allows compliance-focused trading through automated market makers, while the audited release of the DualPool hook has extended the protocol into tokenized real-world assets alongside partners like Superstate and Securitize. These developments broaden Uniswap's use case beyond traditional decentralized exchange trading.

Not all of UNI's recent price action stems from protocol news. The Federal Reserve's latest Federal Open Market Committee meeting kept the federal funds rate unchanged at 3.50% to 3.75%, with three members favoring a 25-basis-point hike. This reinforced expectations of potential tightening if inflation persists, lifting Treasury yields and strengthening the US dollar, which prompted traders to reduce exposure to risk assets, including cryptocurrencies. UNI gave back part of its earlier gains despite ongoing protocol-specific optimism.

From a technical perspective, UNI maintains a constructive daily trend. The price is trading above a rising trendline that has supported the recovery since June, with every major pullback producing a higher low. Bollinger Bands show UNI trading near the upper band around $3.98 after repeatedly testing resistance near $4. The middle band at $3.71 serves as key support; holding above that level keeps the bullish structure intact, while a break below could expose the ascending trendline around the mid-$3.50 region. The Average Directional Index (ADX) has climbed to 38, indicating a strengthening trend with sustained momentum.

For context on broader market dynamics, the Fed's rate decision has influenced risk asset sentiment, while other tokens like AAVE are also eyeing breakout levels. Meanwhile, Pi Network has seen a 10% rise on its own protocol upgrades.
