Ethena's native token, ENA, has continued its downward trajectory, falling 3% in the last 24 hours to trade at $0.0787 and setting a new all-time low. The decline comes despite a high-profile partnership with global asset manager Janus Henderson, which manages approximately $480 billion in assets.

Janus Henderson Deal Fails to Halt Slide

On Tuesday, Ethena announced via X that Janus Henderson has made a strategic investment in ENA, the protocol's governance token. The partnership also includes plans for Janus Henderson to integrate USDe, Ethena's yield-bearing synthetic dollar, into its treasury cash management operations. Additionally, the two firms are exploring the possibility of offering USDe to Janus Henderson clients through exchange-traded investment products, a move that could bring decentralized finance (DeFi) yield products into regulated markets.

UNI Nears $3.58 Resistance as Governance Vote Could Boost Token Burns
UNI is testing $3.58 resistance as Uniswap's governance vote on expanding protocol fees and token burns could catalyze a breakout, with Robinhood Chain already contributing over $6 billion in trading volume.

Nick Cherney, head of innovation at Janus Henderson Investors, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, noting that blockchain innovation is being driven by the DeFi sector and emphasizing the importance of partnerships with leading protocols and founders.

This deal follows other institutional endorsements for Ethena. Earlier this month, Coinbase Ventures disclosed its first investment in Ethena and plans to distribute its products to over 100 million users. Anchorage Digital also expanded its collaboration with Ethena to support institutional lending via its Atlas platform.

Technical Indicators Point to Further Weakness

Despite these positive developments, technical analysis paints a bearish picture for ENA. The 4-hour chart shows the token trading below key support levels, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 38, approaching oversold territory. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) lines remain below the neutral zone, confirming bearish momentum.

If selling pressure persists, ENA could break below the $0.070 support level, with the next demand zone around $0.063. A daily close below these levels might push the token below $0.060, marking a new all-time low. On the upside, the first major resistance sits at $0.088, and a decisive close above that could open the door to a rally toward the $0.10 psychological level.

Ethena's Institutional Traction vs. Market Sentiment

Ethena has become one of the largest DeFi protocols by offering yield through its USDe synthetic dollar, which combines stablecoin demand with derivatives hedging strategies. The protocol previously managed about $15 billion in assets during last year's market rally but now oversees roughly $5 billion as broader crypto markets recover from a prolonged downturn.

The contrast between growing institutional interest and ENA's price action highlights the current bearish sentiment in the crypto market. Similar dynamics are playing out across the sector, as seen in Pi Network's 10% drop despite protocol upgrades and TRX's decline despite record network activity.

For now, ENA remains under pressure, and investors are watching whether the Janus Henderson deal and other institutional partnerships can eventually reverse the bearish trend.
