BitMine (NYSE: BMNR) shares have climbed 32% from their year-to-date low, as the company approaches a pivotal transition from aggressive capital raising to a self-sustaining cash flow model. The stock now trades near $16.63, buoyed by Ethereum's resilience and the firm's accumulation strategy.

Ethereum Holdings Near 5% Supply Goal

BitMine's latest update reveals total crypto holdings of $11.5 billion, including 5,777,468 ETH and 207 Bitcoin. The company's target is to hold 5% of Ethereum's circulating supply—approximately 6 million coins. At the current pace, this goal could be reached by August or September.

From Dilution to Free Cash Flow

BitMine's path to cash flow generation has required significant shareholder dilution. Outstanding shares have ballooned from 2 million in May 2025 to over 603 million today, funding the ETH purchases. However, once accumulation ends, the company expects to generate steady staking income.

Ethereum's current staking yield of 3% would produce roughly 180,000 ETH annually. At today's prices, that equates to over $347 million in revenue. If ETH revisits its all-time high of $4,953, annual staking income could approach $900 million.

BitMine's cost structure is lean: fewer than ten employees, no debt, and annual dividend obligations to BMNP holders under $40 million. This means staking revenue could cover dividends, fund share buybacks, or support venture investments.

This model contrasts with Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), which holds Bitcoin—an asset that does not generate yield. BitMine's 27,801 ETH Buy Adds Pressure as Ethereum Eyes $1,800 Resistance.

Technical Outlook for BMNR Stock

From a technical perspective, BMNR has broken above its 25-day exponential moving average and is approaching the $17.80 resistance level—its lowest point in February and March. A decisive move above that could open the door to $20, a psychological barrier. The stock's recent recovery suggests growing investor confidence in the company's cash flow transition.

However, risks remain. The company's heavy reliance on Ethereum's price and staking yield means any downturn in ETH could pressure revenue. As BitMine nears its accumulation target, investors will watch closely whether the company can deliver on its promise of becoming a free cash flow machine. The next few months will be critical in determining whether the dilution was worth the eventual payoff.
