Bitget has announced the launch of its Anti-Scam Month 2026, an annual initiative aimed at bolstering user protection as digital asset platforms evolve into broader multi-asset ecosystems. The campaign, themed "More Assets, Stronger Shield. Stay Safe in the Multi-Asset Era," comes alongside the release of the exchange's 2025 security and fraud prevention results, which highlight significant recoveries and threat mitigation efforts.
During 2025, Bitget's security team helped users recover approximately $32.3 million linked to security incidents and fraudulent activity. The platform intercepted more than 150 million malicious attack requests, identified over 13,000 high-risk malicious IP addresses, and handled 18,135 user protection cases. These figures underscore the growing scale of threats in the crypto space, particularly as exchanges expand offerings beyond traditional cryptocurrencies.
Security Enhancements and Infrastructure Upgrades
Throughout 2025, Bitget strengthened its security framework across multiple fronts. The platform expanded Passkey authentication capabilities based on FIDO2 and WebAuthn standards, enhanced multi-factor authentication for high-risk account actions, and improved anti-phishing protections. Device management controls were also upgraded, allowing users to monitor and manage account access in real time.
On the infrastructure side, Bitget's security systems recorded more than 2.8 billion interceptions through custom protection rules and mitigated over 1.5 billion DDoS-related attack attempts. The platform also deployed machine learning-based behavioral analysis to identify suspicious activity and emerging threats across its ecosystem.
User Education and Industry Collaboration
User education remained a cornerstone of Bitget's security strategy. Anti-Scam Month campaigns conducted across 2024 and 2025 reached approximately 1.38 billion users globally through security awareness content, educational resources, and community engagement initiatives. The company expanded its Anti-Scam Hub, maintained a public bug bounty program, and introduced interactive exercises like the Smarter Eyes Challenge, which attracted close to 50,000 participants through simulated phishing and scam detection drills.
Bitget also continued its collaboration with leading blockchain security organizations, including SlowMist and Elliptic, to support threat intelligence sharing and anti-fraud research. These partnerships are critical as the industry moves toward multi-asset platforms that offer a wider range of products and markets, as noted by Hon Ng, Chief Legal Officer at Bitget. "Protecting users requires continuous risk monitoring, rapid response mechanisms, security education, and close cooperation across the industry," Ng said.
Broader Industry Context
The launch of Anti-Scam Month 2026 comes amid a broader trend of exchanges enhancing security measures to attract institutional and retail investors. For instance, Bybit recently launched a RLUSD Hold & Earn campaign with zero staking requirements, while Bitget itself introduced cross-asset accounts allowing 100 US stock tokens as margin. These developments highlight the increasing complexity of digital asset platforms, which now span crypto, equities, and other asset classes.
As the multi-asset era unfolds, security remains a key differentiator for exchanges. Bitget's proactive approach, including the recovery of $32.3 million and the blocking of 150 million attacks, signals a commitment to user protection that could influence investor confidence. However, the broader market continues to face challenges, as evidenced by BingX's $1M USDT campaign to capitalize on earnings season, underscoring the competitive landscape.
