MEXC, a digital asset trading platform known for its zero-fee model, has released its September 2026 platform update, highlighting a significant expansion in traditional finance (TradFi) asset coverage and a substantial boost to its user protection reserves. The exchange now offers access to more than 10,000 TradFi-linked assets, and its Guardian Fund has been increased by 1,000 BTC, reinforcing its commitment to safeguarding user funds.
According to the platform's announcement, September saw a total trading volume of $407 billion. MEXC listed 178 new tokens across spot and futures markets, which collectively generated $551 million in trading volume. This expansion is part of MEXC's broader strategy to serve as a gateway to a wide array of global markets, bridging the gap between traditional finance and the digital asset ecosystem.
Zero-Fee Expansion and Cost Savings
MEXC has continued to push its zero-fee trading initiative, expanding the number of trading pairs eligible for no commission to 1,575. This move resulted in users saving an estimated $110 million in trading fees during September. The platform's commitment to reducing trading costs aligns with its goal of providing accessible and efficient market access for retail investors.
Guardian Fund and Proof of Reserves
In response to a series of security incidents across the crypto industry, MEXC has taken proactive steps to enhance user asset protection. The exchange allocated an additional 1,000 BTC to its Guardian Fund, marking the second major BTC injection this year. The fund now holds 2,000 BTC and over 100 million USDT, strengthening the platform's reserve capacity.
MEXC also published its September Proof of Reserves report, independently audited by Hacken. The report revealed reserve ratios of 119% for USDT, 111% for USDC, 297% for BTC, and 111% for ETH. All four assets maintained ratios above 100%, indicating that the exchange holds sufficient reserves to cover user liabilities.
Customer Support and Transparency
The platform reported handling 48,268 user inquiries in September, with an average response time of 76.71 seconds. Additionally, MEXC issued 24,908 Loss Coverage Vouchers, a program designed to compensate users for certain trading losses. These figures underscore the exchange's focus on responsive customer service and user-centric policies.
MEXC's September performance reflects its ongoing efforts to broaden asset access, lower trading costs, and strengthen asset protection. The platform's expansion into TradFi assets and its robust reserve management are key indicators of its evolution in a rapidly converging financial landscape.
Looking ahead, MEXC aims to continue enhancing its platform and services to deliver a more accessible, secure, and user-centric trading experience. As the boundaries between traditional and digital finance blur, the exchange is positioning itself to offer a comprehensive suite of investment opportunities.
