PROSPER has officially launched its Performance Markets framework, a new infrastructure designed to bridge verifiable onchain performance data with independently priced crypto-native assets. Built on the Pharos Network, the framework introduces MemeRWA, a novel approach that uses observable economic performance as a reference without tokenizing ownership of the underlying asset.

How Performance Markets Work

Each Performance Market begins with a Curator creating a Vault around a specific onchain strategy. This structure generates two distinct instruments: Vault Shares, which offer direct exposure to the strategy, and p{VAULT}, a separately priced crypto-native asset linked to the Curator and the strategy. Importantly, p{VAULT} does not represent ownership in the Vault, nor does it track its net asset value (NAV) or provide any claim on the Vault's assets, performance, or profits.

Instead, p{VAULT} is priced independently through a public bonding curve initially, and after graduation, through external market liquidity. The Vault's verifiable performance serves as an observable economic reference for the asset's market price, creating a transparent link between strategy outcomes and token valuation.

Automated Buyback and Burn Mechanism

A key feature of Performance Markets is the predefined buyback and burn mechanism. Once a Vault strategy exceeds its high-water mark, a specified portion of eligible performance fees is used to purchase the corresponding p{VAULT} on third-party decentralized exchanges and permanently burn the acquired tokens. According to PROSPER, this buyback is an automated protocol function executed through smart-contract logic, and it is not intended to provide price support, stabilize the asset, or function as a market-making program.

MemeRWA: A New Approach to Real-World Assets

Unlike traditional RWA tokenization, MemeRWA does not place ownership rights or economic claims on the underlying asset onchain. Instead, observable economic activity serves as a reference point for an independently priced crypto-native asset. p{VAULT} holders do not receive a claim on the underlying strategy, making this a purely performance-linked instrument.

Each p{VAULT} launches with a fixed supply of 1 billion tokens, with no presale, team allocation, or insider allocation, according to PROSPER. All Vault holdings, NAV, fee accrual, bonding curve reserves, and buyback transactions are observable onchain, providing full transparency for investors.

Infrastructure and Broader Implications

PROSPER provides the technology infrastructure for third-party Curators to create and operate Performance Markets. Curators deploy and manage their onchain strategies through the Vault infrastructure, while PROSPER supplies the underlying technology services supporting the framework. This launch establishes the foundation for PROSPER's broader MemeRWA framework, designed to make verifiable economic performance data available as a reference for independently priced crypto-native assets.

The move comes amid growing interest in onchain private credit vaults and other yield-generating strategies, as investors seek transparent and verifiable performance metrics. The framework also aligns with trends in onchain sentiment analysis and the broader evolution of crypto-native financial products.

While the concept is innovative, it remains to be seen how the market will respond to p{VAULT} tokens, which are explicitly not tied to underlying asset ownership. The success of Performance Markets will depend on the quality of strategies curated and the liquidity provided by external markets. As always, investors should conduct thorough due diligence before participating in any new crypto-native product.
