Nvidia and Palantir Technologies have announced a new collaboration to develop what they call "sovereign AI" for critical supply chains. The system, which will initially be deployed within Nvidia's own manufacturing and logistics network, is designed to provide real-time visibility into supply chain constraints, codify operational knowledge, and accelerate decision-making. The companies say the technology will later be made available to other industries.

Combining Nvidia's AI models with Palantir's platforms

The new system integrates Nvidia's Nemotron open models with Palantir's Foundry and AIP platforms, grounded in Palantir's Ontology system. This combination allows companies to maintain control over their own data, avoiding the need to route it through a shared commercial model. The deployment runs on a jointly built reference architecture called the Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System, with support from Dell Technologies and Cisco for on-premises setups, and Rackspace and Nebius for cloud and co-location options.

First use case: Nvidia's complex chip supply chain

Nvidia operates one of the most intricate supply chains in the world, spanning millions of parts, thousands of suppliers, and a global network of manufacturing partners. Each Vera Rubin server rack alone requires 1.3 million components. The new AI system is expected to help Nvidia's teams identify material shortages earlier, evaluate alternatives faster, and guide allocation decisions based on their full impact on production.

"Nvidia has arguably the most valuable, intricate, and complex supply chain in the world," said Alex Karp, Palantir's co-founder and CEO, in a joint statement. Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang described supply chains as "the operating system of the physical economy," adding that the companies are turning that network into what he called sovereign intelligence.

Broader applications and customer adoption

Beyond Nvidia, the system is designed for use in agriculture, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, technology, and government. Customers can post-train Nemotron models with their own data within Palantir's Foundry and AIP, and Nvidia's cuOpt software adds scenario planning capabilities. This allows teams to model supply constraints, weigh tradeoffs, and receive AI-recommended actions and risk flags, while final decisions remain with human experts.

Deepening partnership

This announcement is the latest step in a relationship that has been building for nearly a year. Nvidia and Palantir first showcased a joint AI framework at Nvidia's GTC conference in October 2025, followed by the "Chain Reaction" domestic AI infrastructure initiative in December, and a sovereign AI partnership for US government and critical infrastructure customers in June. The collaboration also provides both companies with a high-profile reference case: Nvidia can demonstrate its own supply chain running on the system before pitching it to external clients, while Palantir gains another marquee use case tied to the world's most closely watched AI hardware maker.

Full details of the collaboration will be presented at Palantir's AIPCon 11 conference. For investors, this move underscores the growing intersection of AI and supply chain management, a trend that could have implications for companies like Nvidia's stock performance and broader AI infrastructure plays. Meanwhile, Nebius, a partner in this initiative, has already seen market reactions to similar deals.

As supply chain disruptions remain a concern—highlighted by recent oil price spikes and production hurdles—the push for AI-driven supply chain solutions is likely to gain traction.
