Z-TEXT, a privacy-centric messaging application built on the BitcoinZ blockchain, has officially launched, offering users a communication platform that requires no phone number, email address, or SIM card, and operates without any KYC verification. The app is now available for download on Android, macOS, Windows, and Linux, with an iOS version slated for the App Store.

How Z-TEXT Ensures Privacy

Every message sent through Z-TEXT is transmitted as a shielded BitcoinZ transaction. The platform leverages zk-SNARKs, a zero-knowledge proof system, to validate transactions without disclosing the sender or recipient. Message content is encrypted on the device using AES-256-GCM before transmission, ensuring that only the intended recipient can decrypt and read it.

Strategy's Smallest 2026 Bitcoin Buy: 250 BTC at $86,194 as MSTR Slips
Strategy bought only 250 BTC last week, its smallest purchase of 2026, at an average of $86,194 per coin. MSTR slipped as Bitcoin traded near $82,788.

User identities are generated from a 24-word seed phrase rather than tied to personal data, allowing users to discard and replace their identities at any time. This approach eliminates the need for centralized identity management and enhances user autonomy.

Multi-Layered Architecture

Z-TEXT operates on three distinct layers: the BitcoinZ blockchain provides decentralization and permanence, zk-SNARKs ensure transactional privacy, and quantum-resistant cryptography (ML-KEM-768, integrated since version 3.7.0) protects key exchanges against potential future quantum computing threats.

Five Tools in One Application

The application integrates five functionalities: a messenger, a BTCZ wallet, an on-chain password manager, a broadcast feature called Channels, and a disposable identity system. Each identity is tied to a single 24-word seed, which unlocks all five tools.

Transaction costs are minimal: sending a message incurs a 0.0002 BTCZ fee, comprising a 0.0001 BTCZ network fee and a 0.0001 BTCZ tip to the recipient. In typical back-and-forth conversations, the tip is returned with each reply, effectively reducing the net cost to approximately 0.0001 BTCZ per message.

Network and Verification

BitcoinZ's genesis block was mined on September 10, 2017. The network is GPU-mineable, requiring no specialized hardware, and an independent security review published in June 2026 confirmed the integrity of its coin supply. Z-TEXT does not issue BTCZ and has no control over the BitcoinZ blockchain.

The company operates without venture capital funding and maintains an active bug bounty program, offering rewards up to $1,500 per finding, paid in ZEC from a public, verifiable pool.

Leadership Perspective

Eric Pierrot, founder of Z-TEXT, emphasized the importance of cryptographic privacy: “I believe in zk-SNARKs the way some people believe in free speech itself. A whistleblower, a journalist, anyone who needs to speak without being silenced shouldn't have to trust a company. The math should protect them, not a privacy policy.”

Availability and Pricing

Wallet functions, reading previously saved data, and accessing Channels are free and require no license. A license code for messaging, new password manager entries, Channels posts, and new disposable identities starts at $3 for one month, payable in several major cryptocurrencies.

Z-TEXT represents a significant step in privacy-focused communication, leveraging blockchain technology to offer a decentralized alternative to traditional messaging platforms.
