New Market Trading, a wealth management firm that operates onchain without taking custody of client assets, has completed an independent security audit of its account infrastructure. The review was carried out by Consensys Diligence, a blockchain security auditing firm that has been active since 2017.

The audit examined the non-custodial architecture underlying every client account at the firm. Those accounts are built on Safe's implementation of the ERC-4337 standard, a widely used account abstraction framework that industry participants rely on to secure more than $100 billion in crypto assets, according to the company.

Client-controlled accounts

Each New Market Trading account is a Safe smart account that the client opens, owns, and controls directly. The firm receives permission to execute investment strategies within that account, but it cannot withdraw funds or redirect them to another destination. That separation between trading authority and asset control is the basis of the company's security model.

"New Market Trading is the first of its kind," said Frank Hepworth, founder and CEO of New Market Trading. "We use non-custodial technology to connect investors to the onchain economy in a way legacy institutions cannot. Our clients always maintain full control of their own funds, while still benefiting from the professional management and investment strategies of our team."

Independent verification

The firm sought third-party verification of that structure rather than relying solely on internal reviews. Consensys Diligence reviewed the non-custodial account infrastructure that supports every New Market Trading client account. The underlying technology carries its own track record: accounts on the platform run on Safe's ERC-4337 implementation, which is used across the industry to secure more than $100 billion in crypto assets.

New Market Trading said the audit forms one part of a broader, ongoing security posture. The company also applies AI-driven monitoring to client accounts, designed to catch the types of mistakes that commonly cause losses in self-custody arrangements, such as an unfamiliar signature request, a suspicious transaction, or an approval that does not match a client's normal activity.

"AI monitoring flags and blocks suspicious transactions before they execute," Hepworth said. "That takes most self-custody mistakes off the table. They can advise you. They can't stop you."

Technology leadership

The company named Ajdin Kahrović as Chief Technology Officer in August 2026, the same day it opened publicly to new clients. Kahrović previously built defi.app from launch to more than $40 billion in cumulative trading volume. In his current role, he leads all engineering, sets the technical roadmap, and holds responsibility for the security and reliability of the platform as it scales.

Hepworth has said the hire was intended to give the company's technology, and its security, a single owner from the outset. New Market Trading said it will continue to invest in third-party verification and account-level safeguards as its client base grows.
