MEXC, a cryptocurrency exchange known for its zero-fee trading model, has introduced the MEXC Global Card, a Visa-powered payment card that extends its cost-saving approach to everyday transactions. The card, announced on August 31, 2026, offers a limited-time promotion with no fees and up to 10% cashback in USDT, alongside the ability to earn up to 7% annualized returns on eligible USDT deposits through MEXC Earn.

The launch comes as crypto card spending continues to surge. According to Paymentscan data, actual crypto card spending reached approximately $759 million in July 2026, roughly 2.5 times the level from a year earlier. This growth underscores a rising demand for payment solutions that reduce costs and improve capital efficiency for digital asset holders.

Strategy (MSTR) resumed Bitcoin purchases, acquiring 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million, ending a 10-week pause. Total holdings now 845,050 BTC.

Key features of the MEXC Global Card

The card is built on Visa's global acceptance network and supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, making it convenient for everyday use. Its four main highlights are designed to address common pain points in crypto payments:

  • Zero fees during promotional period: No issuance, annual, or top-up fees. All purchases incur 0 fees until September 30, 2026, after which rates start from as low as 1%. Visa's exchange rates are used, with no additional markup from MEXC.
  • Cashback and yield combination: Cardholders can earn 4% to 10% USDT cashback, with a monthly cap of up to 800 USDT. By activating the MEXC VVIP Standard tier, users get a base rate of 4%, which can be increased by boosting their M-Score through trading and platform activities. Additionally, subscribing to the card-exclusive flexible savings product via MEXC Earn can yield up to 7% annualized returns on USDT.
  • High spending limits: Supports purchases up to 80,000 USDT per transaction and up to 1,000,000 USDT per day, catering to high-value payments without the need to split transactions.
  • Fast application and instant virtual card: After completing advanced identity verification, the application takes about one to two minutes, and the virtual card is available immediately upon approval.

Strategic positioning and market context

MEXC CEO Vugar Usi emphasized that the card is part of a broader vision to integrate digital assets into daily financial life. "The MEXC Global Card is more than a payment product. It is a step toward closing the full user lifecycle on-chain," he said, highlighting the goal of allowing users to keep assets in digital form until the moment of spending.

The move aligns with industry trends, as other platforms also expand crypto payment options. For instance, stablecoin users have surpassed 300 million, and payment apps are broadening dollar access. Similarly, KuCoin Pay has launched business-focused crypto gift cards for stablecoin distribution, indicating a competitive landscape.

MEXC's card also introduces a referral program, offering 20 USDT to eligible referrers and 10 USDT to new users. Eligible users in supported regions can apply through the official MEXC Global Card page.

As crypto payments gain traction, the MEXC Global Card aims to reduce friction and enhance the utility of digital assets, potentially attracting both existing crypto users and newcomers seeking cost-effective spending solutions.
