TokenInsight's Q2 2026 Crypto Exchange Report reveals that MEXC has secured the second-largest market share globally in commodity perpetuals, a segment that includes gold, silver, and crude oil. The exchange's commodity perpetuals market share rose from 10.6% to 14.7% during the quarter, marking the largest increase among all exchanges tracked in the report. This growth occurred against a backdrop of an 8% quarter-on-quarter decline in total crypto exchange trading volume, which fell to $16.5 trillion.

Market Share Gains Amid Industry Slowdown

Despite the broader market contraction, MEXC's quarterly trading volume reached approximately $1.412 trillion. The exchange's overall market share increased from 7.17% in Q1 to 8.53% in Q2, a gain of 1.36 percentage points — the second-largest increase among all exchanges covered in the report. This performance highlights MEXC's ability to capture market share even as the industry faces headwinds.

Derivatives and Open Interest Rankings

In the derivatives segment, MEXC held a 9.51% market share, ranking fourth globally. It now stands alongside Binance, OKX, and Bybit in a top tier that collectively commands over 72% of the derivatives market. Additionally, MEXC's average open interest market share rose from 8.62% to 9.21%, moving the exchange from fourth to third place globally.

TradFi Perpetuals as a Growth Engine

TradFi perpetuals emerged as the fastest-growing product category in the industry during Q2 2026, and MEXC capitalized on this trend. The exchange's TradFi perpetuals trading volume reached $68.8 billion, giving it a 10.85% market share and a fourth-place global ranking. Within MEXC's own platform, TradFi perpetuals accounted for 7.22% of total derivatives volume, the third-highest proportion among major centralized exchanges. This momentum aligns with broader industry moves, as seen in Binance's TradFi expansion and BingX's multi-asset traction.

Commodity Perpetuals Lead the Way

Commodities were the standout performer within MEXC's TradFi perpetuals business. The exchange's market share in commodity perpetuals — covering gold, silver, and crude oil — surged 4.1 percentage points to 14.7%, the largest increase among all exchanges. This propelled MEXC to the No. 2 position globally in this segment, underscoring the growing demand for traditional asset exposure within crypto trading platforms.

Product Expansion into Pre-IPO and Real Stocks

Building on its TradFi momentum, MEXC broadened its product suite in Q2 with the launch of the SpaceX Pre-IPO Launchpad and RealStocks trading. The Pre-IPO Launchpad provides users early access to pre-listing markets, while RealStocks extends MEXC's US equities offering beyond contract-based price exposure to direct US stock ownership, featuring zero trading fees and corresponding dividend entitlements. These launches mark MEXC's expansion beyond TradFi contracts linked to gold, oil, and U.S. equities into pre-IPO opportunities and direct stock ownership, creating a one-stop gateway spanning crypto, TradFi, pre-IPO, and real U.S. stocks.

For context, the broader market has seen similar trends in traditional equities, such as chip stock rallies and Nvidia's reliance on Big Tech capex, which may influence investor interest in TradFi-linked crypto products.
