BitMine (BMNR) has been consolidating over the past few weeks, but several fundamental and technical factors could drive the stock higher in October. After peaking at $28.76 last month, the shares have pulled back to around $26.43, yet the setup suggests the recent weakness may be a pause before a potential breakout.
Approaching the Ethereum accumulation target
One of the most significant catalysts is BitMine's ongoing Ethereum (ETH) accumulation program. The company currently holds over 6 million ETH and has staked more than 5.1 million tokens, putting it roughly 98% of the way toward its stated goal. Completing these purchases would end the dilution that has increased the share count over the past 15 months, a move that could be well received by investors.
Moreover, the completion of the buying program would allow BitMine to intensify its staking activities. With over 5 million tokens already staked, the company is generating annualized staking revenue that Tom Lee estimates at over $358 million. Once all tokens are staked, that figure could rise to $424 million. Given BitMine's lean operational structure—only about three employees—most of this revenue would flow directly to the bottom line.
Ethereum's bullish outlook
Ethereum itself may provide a tailwind. Citigroup recently raised its price target for ETH to $3,028 from $2,240, citing continued inflows into the crypto market. Spot Ethereum ETFs saw inflows of $832 million in September, following $1.8 billion in August, marking three consecutive months of positive flows. This trend, coinciding with weakness in the AI sector, could support ETH prices.
Technically, Ethereum has formed a bullish flag pattern and a golden cross—where the 50-day moving average crosses above the 200-day moving average. If ETH reaches $3,000, BitMine's holdings would be valued at approximately $18 billion.
Technical indicators for BMNR
BitMine's own chart shows similar bullish signals. The stock has formed a golden cross and is developing a bullish flag pattern, with the price remaining above an ascending trendline that has held since late June. The Supertrend indicator also points upward, suggesting the path of least resistance is higher. A move toward the psychological $35 level is possible if the pattern resolves to the upside.
Valuation appears attractive
On a sum-of-parts basis, BitMine looks undervalued. The company has a market capitalization of $15.9 billion and no debt, while its Ethereum holdings are worth approximately $16.1 billion. Including cash and its Moonshots portfolio, the total value of its assets is around $17.2 billion—higher than its current market cap. This discrepancy suggests the market is not fully pricing in the company's holdings.
While risks remain, including volatility in crypto prices and potential regulatory changes, the combination of a nearing accumulation target, rising staking revenue, supportive technicals, and a compelling valuation could make October a pivotal month for BitMine stock.
