SwapGlobal, a US-based OTC derivatives provider, has secured new funding from Dutch investor Marcel Boekhoorn, W Group Founder and President Volodymyr Nosov, and Amsterdam-based private equity firm Kenzoll Capital. The investment will support the company's expansion beyond its current crypto derivatives business, with an initial focus on offering institutional clients exposure to pre-IPO shares.
The funding amount was not disclosed. SwapGlobal plans to use the capital to increase trading capacity and working capital as it scales its derivatives business for hedge funds, asset managers, and other institutional clients. The company's platform provides OTC derivatives linked to pre-IPO shares, international equities, computing capacity, and digital assets, allowing institutions to gain market exposure without directly holding the underlying assets.
For institutional clients, this structure eliminates the need to manage crypto wallets, maintain offshore exchange accounts, or build dedicated crypto trading infrastructure. SwapGlobal manages and hedges its positions through crypto trading platforms, while client collateral is held with qualified custodians.
The additional capital will enable SwapGlobal to support a larger number of contracts and accommodate more institutional counterparties. The company is preparing its first transactions, beginning with pre-IPO shares. This funding round is part of a longer-term capital plan, with further expansion tied to the growth of its derivatives portfolio.
SwapGlobal has also strengthened its risk management team with the appointment of Fedja Terzic as Chief Risk Officer. Terzic is a certified actuary (AAG) and Financial Risk Manager (GARP). He spent six years at Flow Traders, eventually becoming Global Head of Risk & Middle Office and Managing Director. He later held the COO and CRO positions at One Trading, Europe's first MiFID-regulated crypto derivatives exchange.
The investment follows an earlier strategic partnership between SwapGlobal and Kenzoll Capital, extending an existing relationship as the company prepares to broaden its institutional offering. René van Kesteren, Founder and CEO of SwapGlobal, said: "With these investors on board, we can serve institutional clients within the US regulatory framework much faster with OTC derivatives on pre-IPO shares, compute and digital assets. The trading capital and additional working capital give us room to move into the next phase of growth."
Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, commented: "Digital assets are moving from the edges of finance into the mainstream, and institutional capital needs infrastructure it can trust. Investors need partners who can offer clear structures and proper risk controls. SwapGlobal is building a US-compliant, transparent way for institutions to take exposure to these markets, and that is why we are backing the company."
Corné Melissen, Founder of Kenzoll Capital, added: "Our digital asset market-making business has been part of SwapGlobal's trading setup. The technology and the team that run it now sit inside SwapGlobal, so the company can set prices for its derivatives and manage the risk on them in one place."
SwapGlobal provides eligible US institutional investors with OTC derivatives offering exposure to pre-IPO shares, non-US equities, computing capacity, and digital assets. The company hedges its positions through crypto trading platforms and holds client collateral with qualified custodians. Kenzoll Capital is a strategic investor.
