The cryptocurrency market held steady over the weekend, with Bitcoin and most major tokens trading in narrow ranges. Prices have been supported by Friday's weaker-than-expected nonfarm payrolls report, which fueled expectations of a more accommodative Federal Reserve. Among the trending tokens today are LayerZero (ZRO), Midnight (NIGHT), and Pi Network (PI).
LayerZero price action and key levels
LayerZero's token has experienced a remarkable rally, climbing from a low of $0.7097 in August to the current $2.02. This represents a gain of over 185% from its August trough, lifting its market capitalization to more than $813 million. Trading volume has also surged, rising over 35% to exceed $258 million.
The token has broken above the critical resistance level of $1.3378, which was its highest point on August 25. This move invalidated a double-top pattern, a bearish reversal signal that had been forming. ZRO now trades well above its 50-day exponential moving average (EMA), indicating strong bullish momentum. A golden cross pattern emerged on October 2, and the Average Directional Index (ADX) has climbed to 50.9, its highest level in months, suggesting the uptrend is gaining strength.
However, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is in overbought territory, which could lead to a short-term pullback. The most likely scenario is a modest retreat to the $1.3378 support level before the uptrend resumes.
Midnight token breaks out on Hoskinson's prediction
Midnight, the privacy-focused token launched by Charles Hoskinson, has also seen a strong rally. The move accelerated after Weiss Ratings predicted Midnight would be the next top token to watch, and Hoskinson himself stated the coin could surpass Zcash in significance.
The token jumped from a low of $0.0150 in July to a high of $0.0529, its highest level since March 28. It has broken above the crucial resistance at $0.041, confirming a bullish breakout. The ADX has risen to 52, indicating strong trend momentum. However, the RSI has soared to 86, signaling extreme overbought conditions. A pullback to the $0.041 support level is possible before the next leg higher.
Pi Network remains rangebound
Pi Network's token has underperformed its peers, staying within a narrow trading range over the past few months. The coin has reacted mildly to ongoing network upgrades, including the upcoming Protocol 28. It is currently hovering near its 50-day EMA, with the RSI below the neutral 50 level and the ADX declining, indicating a lack of directional momentum.
The token is likely to remain within its current range, with potential downside toward the key support level of $0.0692, its lowest point since July 14.
Investors should monitor these levels closely as the market digests the latest economic data and token-specific catalysts.
