Bitcoin's recent rebound is fueling a strong rally in top Bitcoin treasury stocks, with Strategy (MSTR) and Strive (ASST) both posting significant gains. MSTR has climbed to $160.50, up over 102% from its yearly low, while Strive has surged to $31, a rise of more than 340% from its all-time low. These moves come as Bitcoin price eyes a potential breakout to the $100,000 level.
Bitcoin's Bullish Catalysts
Bitcoin's price is showing signs of a strong upward trajectory, with several catalysts supporting the move. Notably, ETF inflows have been robust, with funds adding over $102 million this month. BlackRock's IBIT led the charge with $195 million in inflows, while Grayscale's BTC and Morgan Stanley's MSBT added $14 million and $7 million, respectively. These inflows were partially offset by outflows from Fidelity, Grayscale, Bitwise, and VanEck, but the overall trend remains positive. Last month, the funds saw net inflows of $2.6 billion, and cumulative inflows have now reached $57.6 billion, with total assets under management exceeding $109 billion.
Rising ETF inflows are a bullish signal, indicating that both retail and institutional investors are accumulating Bitcoin. Additionally, the recent retreat in oil prices—Brent and WTI falling to $101.4 and $91.85, respectively—and sideways bond yields are providing a supportive macro backdrop.
Technical Indicators Point Higher
On the daily chart, Bitcoin has formed a golden cross pattern, with the 50-day and 200-day exponential moving averages crossing. The coin has also broken above the key resistance level of $82,070, its highest point in September, and is attempting to surpass $87,270. A successful move above this level could pave the way for a rally to $100,000, a level that would significantly boost the value of Strategy's and Strive's Bitcoin holdings. Strategy currently holds 847,666 coins, while Strive holds 27,462, which would be worth over $84.7 billion and $2.7 billion, respectively, at $100K.
Strategy Stock Technicals
MSTR stock has surged from its year-to-date low of $82.16 to $160.50, breaking above the resistance at $144.30. The stock has moved above its 200-day moving average and is forming a bullish flag pattern, with the Supertrend indicator also turning bullish. Analysts see potential for further gains, with the next target at $196, its highest point in May.
Strive Stock Outlook
Strive, associated with Vivek Ramaswamy, has made a remarkable comeback, rising from a February low of $7.15 to $30. The stock has formed a golden cross pattern, and the MACD indicator is trending upward. Given Bitcoin's strength, Strive could continue its ascent, potentially reaching the psychological level of $50.
While the outlook is positive, investors should remain cautious, as Bitcoin's volatility and broader market conditions could impact these stocks. The recent cooler PCE inflation data, while not an all-clear for stocks, may provide some support. However, rising bond yields and energy prices remain risks to monitor.
