Astera Labs shares have stabilized after a recent pullback, trading near $358 after touching a low of $251.97 in mid-September. The stock's price action mirrors that of other AI-related names such as Corning, Lumentum, and Coherent, suggesting a sector-wide trend rather than company-specific weakness.

Technical indicators point to further gains

The chart reveals a double-bottom pattern at $251.97, a level that held in both July and September. The stock is now testing the neckline at $358, which was its August high. It sits slightly above the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement and has formed a bullish pennant, a pattern that often signals a continuation of the prior uptrend. The price has also moved above the Supertrend indicator, adding to the bullish bias.

Northland Upgrades C3.ai to Outperform, Sets $16 Target on C3 Code Launch
Northland analyst Mike Latimore upgraded C3.ai to Outperform and raised his price target to $16, pointing to the C3 Code platform and a compressed valuation multiple.

If the breakout materializes, the next target is the psychological level of $501, which would represent a 40% gain from current levels. This aligns with the price target set by analysts at RBC Capital Markets.

AI infrastructure spending provides a tailwind

Astera Labs specializes in connectivity solutions that link GPUs, CPUs, memory, storage, and networking equipment within AI servers and racks. The company is well-positioned to benefit from the ongoing data center buildout in the U.S. and abroad. Gartner estimates AI infrastructure spending will reach between $2.59 trillion and $2.67 trillion this year, a 49% increase from the prior year.

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has projected AI spending could hit $1 trillion next year, while firms like PwC and Deloitte have also raised their outlooks. If these forecasts prove accurate, Astera Labs stands to gain significantly, especially as it prepares to launch Leo, a product that creates a dedicated memory tier connected directly to GPUs via its Scorpio switches.

Strong financial performance and growth expectations

The company's latest quarterly results showed revenue of $392 million, up 104% year-over-year. Gross margin improved to 73.3%, and operating margin reached 22.7%. Analysts expect revenue to grow 138% to $550 million in the current quarter, with earnings per share rising from 50 cents to $1.19.

For the full year, revenue is projected to reach $1.91 billion, up from $852 million last year, and could exceed $2.97 billion next year. This growth may help justify the stock's elevated valuation, which currently trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 87, well above the sector median of 23. Its forward PEG ratio of 1.66 also exceeds the sector median of 1.25.

While the valuation is rich, the company's rapid revenue expansion and the secular growth in AI infrastructure spending provide a fundamental backdrop that could support further upside. Investors will be watching whether the technical breakout holds and whether the company can deliver on its growth projections.
