Arbitrum's native token, ARB, has surged to its highest level since January, reaching $0.1950—a 175% gain from its 2024 low. The rally places ARB among the top-performing cryptocurrencies this year, fueled by the rapid expansion of Robinhood Chain, a layer-2 network built on Arbitrum's Orbit framework.

Robinhood Chain's fee explosion

Robinhood Chain, launched in July, has seen its fee revenue skyrocket. Data shows the network has generated over $21 million in fees so far this month, a sharp jump from $6.65 million in August and $3.5 million in July. This growth is attributed to increasing activity in decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.

Under the arrangement, chains built on Arbitrum's stack pay a 10% fee on net chain profits back to the Arbitrum ecosystem. As a result, the Arbitrum Foundation has already collected over $2.1 million this month, compared to $710,000 in August. This revenue stream is expected to grow as Robinhood Chain continues to attract users and liquidity.

RWA tokenization gains traction

Arbitrum's role in RWA tokenization is also expanding. The network's total value locked (TVL) in RWA projects has crossed the $1 billion milestone, with account numbers rising to 9,600. RWA is considered one of the most promising use cases for blockchain, bridging traditional finance with decentralized platforms.

The surge in ARB's price is occurring in a high-volume environment, with 24-hour trading volume exceeding $982 million—significantly higher than many other tokens. This momentum aligns with a rising Altcoin Season Index and the Fear and Greed Index reaching 75, indicating strong market optimism.

Technical analysis points to overbought conditions

From a technical perspective, ARB's breakout follows a prolonged consolidation phase between $0.07080 and $0.1017, often a sign of accumulation. The token has now climbed above its 50-day moving average, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) has entered overbought territory at 85.

While momentum remains bullish, the overbought RSI suggests a potential pullback. If profit-taking occurs, ARB could retreat to test the key support level of $0.1491, its highest point on May 9. Investors should monitor these levels closely.
